What
we do
We buy produce directly from local farmers and suppliers then sell
directly to our customers through convenient locations such as community
centres, schools, churches, village halls and peoples places of work.
Our policy is to buy local produce where possible. By buying direct
from local farmers we are able to ensure them a better price for
their produce. Buying locally also means food does not travel so
far which means it is fresher and that the environmental impacts
of transportation are reduced.
Salad crops and fruit are not however grown extensively in our
region and are therefore purchased from elsewhere in the UK, or
where UK produce is unavailable from abroad. Whoever we buy from,
we only buy first class produce.
Where we operate
We operate across the North East of England in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and the Tees Valley area.
How we operate
We offer our customers a range of different selections of mixed
seasonal produce. We can supply either produce loose or pre-packed, the purchase of loose produce is particularly popular with food co-ops. |
